GP2 by Sasa-Van-Goth GP2 by Sasa-Van-Goth
Most.Difficult.Photos.I've.Ever.Made.

EVER.

Damn, I went in Monza park to see GP2 and GP3 qualifications (I was too late for F1) but it's SO hard to take picture of the cars o_o
Of 1002 photos this is probably the best one ._.
Also I didn't have a ticket so I have to find a "illegal" spot to see them and I had that stupid wire netting in front of me, the camera kept focusing on it instead that on the cars.
AND I WAS AT 5 METERS FROM THEM

Even the videos came out bad XDD

Totally unsatisfied hurr

If anyone cares to see more tell me and I'll make a collage with some non-blurry pic.

Well I think this shot is worth the 1002 you took to get it! It's got great action plus you're at the frikken Monza park!

I can't read italian, so I have no idea if what I am going to suggest has already been said or not. :D

Well, I am no expert on these things, I am just trying to think how I would shoot something like this. You said that your camera would just focus on the fence/wire, whatever. Now I would suggest turning of the auto-focus of your camera and use the manual focus instead. And I would point the camera to the point where you want to shoot the cars, turn the lens sharp, and then just wait. :D If that makes any sense to you. :giggle:

Other than that, this is a really great capture! I applaud you! I like that motion of the car in the background and the idea that it's just overtaking the other one.

Damn, I need to get to a racetrack and try this out. Sadly enough there is no track for miles! :(

Thank you, this is helpful :)
TBH, I don't know if I can turn off the autofocus o_o" I'm gonna see if I can find it!
About the second part, yes I did it like that :XD:

Thanks again!

Always glad to help.

Well, I can only speak for the D-SLRs, that the switch is always on the lens itself. Since you have a BRIDGE camera, you should either find the focus type in the menu of your camera or on the outside where the display is, something called "MF" or something. You can also ready the book that came with the camera on page 89. :D

lol, me neither, I always look up on the internet! :D

Yeah the manual focus comes in pretty handy when shooting something that is very fast, or when there isn't anything the autofocus can focus on, like sky shots or landscapes.
